I have enjoyed working with kids, families and communities on the preventative side of human service issues for the better part of 27 years. Today, I find myself on the other end of the spectrum serving those who have found themselves unemployed and homeless.
The numbers are staggering—in King County alone, 8,000 people are homeless. Because of the impact of the recession, the lack of affordable housing, the number of homeless, and a high unemployment rate, many more adults, children, and families are facing homelessness. The Millionair Club mission to provide meals and jobs couldn’t be more important than it is today.
It is an honor to have been selected as the next Executive Director of the Millionair Club. My pledge is to continue the great work the volunteers and staff teams have accomplished since 1923. It will take all of our efforts to help those who find themselves without food, a job, and a place to call home.
