Below are some details about our two hiring options:
Direct Hire
Will I be charged for using the Millionair Club Charity day labor program?
We charge no fees for our services — it's free for both workers and employers.
How do I know workers are trustworthy?
Our registered workers have passed federal background checks.
Do I have to provide lunch?
We highly encourage you to provide lunch for your worker, but there's no requirement.
How many hours of work am I required to provide?
We request a four-hour minimum.
How much should I pay?
We recommend a rate of $9-11 per hour.
How will the worker get to my home or business?
Workers take public transportation.
What if I live far from a bus stop?
Our workers travel all over King County. They'll take public transit to a nearby Park & Ride, and then call you for pick up.
Am I liable if a worker gets hurt on my property?
If you choose the Agency Option, the Millionair provides insurance. For the Direct Hire option, you'll need to check your business or homeowner's insurance regarding liability for direct hires.
Do I have to provide tools and materials?
Yes — employers provide all tools and supplies. We encourage you to provide work gloves.
How long will it take to get a response after I call in a work order?
We will get back to you within 48 hours. If you need to reach us immediately please call 206-728-JOBS.
Agency Option
Who should consider the agency option?
This option is for business owners interested in hiring workers for more than a day but don't want the hassle of temporary employee paperwork. We cover L&I, Social Security, and unemployment insurance and general liability insurance. We pay workers daily and bill employers. A higher hourly wage is billed, to cover costs.
Do I have to provide tools and materials?
Employers provide all tools and supplies. Please consider providing work gloves.

It takes resources to prepare our day laborers for work. At our facility people can shower, eat a hot meal, and receive bus fare to reach job sites. Your donation helps us continue these services.
Volunteers are always welcome to help serve meals or organize fundraising events.
