Will The Millionair Club Charity be my employer?
We provide a free referral service for those seeking jobs. We do not act as an employer. We provide no benefits and we charge no fees for our service.
How do I register?
Come to our facility at 2515 Western Ave., Seattle (Western and Wall), and ask for our day labor program manager. You'll be guided through the process, which includes a federal background check. We begin registration on Tuesday through Thursday's at 10:00am sharp (please arrive by 9:45am) most weeks. Please call to confirm we're registering new workers before you come by in person.
What should I bring to register in the program?
You'll need a photo ID (state or military) and a Social Security card or birth certificate to prove you are eligible to work in the U.S.
What time should I show up if I want to work?
After you've received your Millionair Club photo ID card, you can sign in any morning, Monday through Saturday, from 6:00 to 8:00am.
What if I want to take a shower or wash my clothes while I wait?
Tell a staff person where you'll be so we can find you.
How will I get to my job?
You'll get a work order every time you're sent out. On that paper you'll see what bus to take to the job site. We expect you to get to your job on time.
Who pays for bus fare?
We will provide bus fare to your first job. Every day thereafter, we expect you to save some of your money for bus fare and phone calls to employers.
What kind of work will I be doing?
Most of the jobs are outside; they include gardening, landscaping, and painting. Sometimes contractors need help with construction work. Inside work may include cleaning or moving furniture. Please be prepared to work in the rain. You'll let us know your skills when you register.
How much will I be paid?
The first day on the job you'll be paid at least $9 per hour. If the employer wants you to return for work the next day you can negotiate the hourly wage.
Will the employer give me lunch?
Employers are not required to provide lunch.
Is it okay to drink or use illegal drugs before or during work?
If you drink or use illegal drugs you'll find yourself permanently barred from the program. Be clean and sober when you arrive at our door.
